Mike Sowry is a rarity, not only among contractors, but also among people in general because he has the highest level of discipline, initiative and integrity. As company founder and president, Mike’s tireless work ethic, passion for construction, attention to detail, and loyalty to clients are the inspiration behind Virtuoso Builders. An entrepreneur at heart, Mike began his career in 1990 by opening a residential lighting design and installation firm out of the trunk of his car. Based on the ideal that visions generate results, Mike’s persistence paid off and over a few short years his business grew to revenues of $1,000,000 annually. In 2001, Mike established a high end remodeling firm, New Spaces Remodeling Group. Again, his perseverance proved successful and the birth of a new company evolved into what we call today, Virtuoso Builders. Mike uses common sense, hard work, and a nontraditional approach as tools to see through to his projects. You will find him in the trenches on a daily basis, always driving his company and his clients. Mike is a graduate of Leadership San Antonio Class 38 through the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. He is a Board Member of the Greater San Antonio Builders Association, active member of the National Association of Home Builders Remodeling 20 Club, and was instrumental in being one of the first remodeling companies to assist Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio in instituting their Wrecking Crew. Outside of work, Mike is a very dedicated husband and father of two. He loves his annual snow skiing trip to Utah with his Dallas buddies from youth and going for a good Saturday morning bike ride or run on the trails.
