The owners of this house purchased the property because of the location and size for a busy family of six. Virtuoso Builders was chosen to take the original design of the home, an unusual combination of brick and patchy limestone, and transform it into a contemporary masterpiece. We love the outcome!
The kitchen and breakfast area were expanded to create more of an open space and allow for a newly built computer workstation. The owners now have custom cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, two islands both with full size sinks and dishwashers, mosaic glass tiles on the base of the sitting island, Caesarstone countertops, and modern tile flooring. Adjacent to this area is the family living room now complete with a recreated entertainment center/fireplace combo. All new wiring for a flat screen TV, custom cabinetry, and a modern fireplace front set the tone for the updated space.
The original Master Suite was recreated with raised, stair-step ceilings in the bedroom, a completely gutted and expanded bathroom, and enlarged closet with customized storage. The original bathroom was basic with a garden tub and stand up shower. Virtuoso took it from drab to fab with one-of-a-kind cabinets having fronts designed with an 's' curve and fun hardware, hand selected by the homeowner. Cultured marble countertops were replaced with Caesarstone, new tub installed with tile surround, and a larger spa-like shower was created.
What busy home is complete without a proper Laundry Room and Mudroom? A small space to handle laundry was tripled in size allowing for additional work space, new custom cabinets, and commercial rubber flooring. In addition, the homeowner requested a steel-framed magnetic plate covering most of one wall to display personal photos, artwork, lists, and invitations. The new Mudroom, once just a simple hallway, boasts four separate cubbies with coat hooks, additional storage for shoes and backpacks along with charging stations for iPods and phones.
Throughout the home: original tan colored walls and baseboards are now white, recessed lighting replaced old fixtures, low flow plumbing and HET toilets replaced inefficient fixtures, old flooring replaced with contemporary tile, restained hardwoods, and new carpet.
